Metal Alliance 3 ticket give away

Anthrax at Fillmore Silver Spring

The Metal Alliance Tour is back again and with Anthrax headlining this year it’s bigger than ever! The tour’s only area stop will be at the Fillmore Silver Spring on Sunday, April 14th, 2013 and we here at DCHeavyMetal.com want to make sure as many of the area’s metal heads can make it out as possible so we’re giving away a pair of tickets to the show to one of you lucky readers of the site. To enter just tell me which bands you’re most excited to see on this year’s Metal Alliance tour by leaving a comment on this post. Read the next paragraph for info on all the bands playing. On Friday, March 29th, 2013 at 5pm EST I’ll pick one lucky winner from all the valid entries at random (using Random.org) to win the pair of tickets. If I haven’t heard back from the winner in 24 hours another winner will be chosen. Be sure to enter with a valid email address you check regularly so I can contact you when you win. Don’t worry, I won’t add you to any email lists or anything like that, I hate spam too. If you enter more than once then all of your entries will be disqualified. If the contest is over when you read this or you simply can’t wait to find out if you win the contest you can buy tickets from Live Nation for $30 here.

Anthrax is headlining this year’s Metal Alliance Tour and to make it even better, they’ll be playing their classic album, Among The Living, in its entirety at every show on the tour. But don’t think the New York thrashers are the only band worth seeing at this show. Direct support will be provided by the legendary Exodus, one of the original bands from the ’80s thrash metal scene in the San Francisco Bay Area. Richmond party thrashers Municipal Waste will also be on this tour so be sure to have a beer in hand when they’re playing. The Massachusetts based melodic death metal band Shadows Fall will be playing only a few dates on this tour, including this one. Their lead guitarist, Jonathan Donais, has recently been added to Anthrax’s live line up so he’ll be playing twice each night. The opening band is Holy Grail from Pasadena, California. They play a blend of thrash and power metal that is almost as high energy as their live show. If you’re not familiar with Holy Grail then check out their newest album, Ride The Void, which is their best release yet, and be sure to get to the show in time to see them. Now watch the awesome videos below by each band playing the show and leave a comment telling me which of the bands you want to see most at this thrashing show!

Anthrax – Indians

Exodus – The Toxic Waltz

Municipal Waste – You’re Cut Off

Shadows Fall – The Unknown

Holy Grail – My Last Attack

  1. First in! As always, stoked to swee Municipal Waste.

  2. Anthrax – they’ve never let me down live…

  3. High on Fire.

    • High on Fire isn’t playing this leg of the tour… sad since they would’ve been my favorite too…

  4. Lucky number one! Killer line-up. Hope to see you in the front row!

  5. Hey Chris,
I love your site! Anyways, I am definitely most excited to see Anthrax. I am not a huge fan of everything that Anthrax has done, but Among The Living is one of my favorite albums of all time, and one of my first metal albums at that. I’m also excited to see Shadows Fall, who I only have two albums by, but both are superb. I’m a sucker for anything that sounds like quality melo-death (even if they are more of a metal-core/thrash band now)!

  6. I’m excited to see Anthrax and Exodus at this year’s Metal Alliance Tour. Being an older metal head who first heard them in the 80’s, it’s awesome to see & hear these guys still kicking ass today.

  7. I love them all but Municipal Waste is my FAVOITE!!!!!! Followed closely by Anthrax, then High on Fire! OMG, I hope I win!

    • HOF isn’t playing here, sadly…

  8. Hey Chris! Always excited to see Muncipal Waste! Great live, plus they have good beer named for them: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/three-floyds-x-municipal-waste-toxic-revolution-stout.57789/

  9. Municipal Waste. I dig Anthrax and Exodus but I’ve seen them many times and I’ve never had a chance to check out MW.

  10. Anthrax, because they’re playing Among The Living in full, but Exodus is hanging tuff! All in all great line up!

  11. I totes wanna see Holy Grail. missed them when they came w/ Toxic Holocaust :(

  12. Exodus! They shred so hard, and I’ve always wanted to see them live.

  13. Anthrax! Have to see Among the Living played in it’s entirety!

  14. Anthrax is just plain awesome!!!

  15. Originally I wanted to see High on Fire again, but since they’re not playing I’d still like to see Municipal Waste since I haven’t seen them before.

  16. Exodus !!!

  17. I’d really love to see Anthrax for the first time. I’ve probably missed them at least the past 3 or 4 times that they were in the area previously.

  18. Anthrax playing all of Among The Living is a highlight not to be missed. Exodus will bring it no doubt and will kick ass definitely. So Municipal Waste is bringing it like D.R.I. back in the day so I’m definitely looking forward to them. Shadows Fall they caught my attention when they came on the scene I be interested in seeing those guys again live.

  19. Exodus! The last 4 albums are being killer!
New singer, New Attitude, PURE FK’NG METAL!
8+ Minutes of strong songs and Gary Holt is back to the touring lineup! Can’t get better than that!
I’m sorry for the rest of the bands, because Exodus
    Is gonna kill it!

  20. Exodus!

  21. Municipal Waste, because I’ve heard good things about them!

  22. omg EXODUS!!! i cannot wait to see exodus!!!!!! everybody must do the toxic waltz!!!!

  28. High on Fire and Municipal Waste!

  29. munisipal waste and holy grail

  30. Exodus and the Waste.

  31. I love all of the bands, but Anthrax is an absolute must see for everyone. Shadows Fall should also be incredible on the short run that they have on the tour!

  32. I’m excited to see Anthrax and Exodus.

  33. holy grail

  34. I’m stoked for some Municipal Waste and Exodus, I’ve never been wasted at a Municipal Waste show before

  35. It would be awesome to see High On Fire again.
I checked them out at the R +R Hotel when I went to see Primate there a few months ago.
Not mention the old school shit that is to be represented at this shindig!

  36. Hard to choose any specific bands, Anthrax is absolutely killer, Municipal Waste is one of the most fun bands I have ever seen, it would be my first experience with Exodus and Holy Grail which is always fun and, quite frankly, being a Massachusetts guy, seeing any metal band from my home state is awesome, especially Shadows Fall, whom I believe to be the most talented and varied of the Mass metal scene

  37. I’ve seen both Municipal Waste and Exodus kinda recently (both killed it). But I really want to see Anthrax. I haven’t seen them in a hell of a long time.

  38. Among the living is by far my favorite Anthrax album and one of my favorite albums of all time. Can’t wait to see it played live in its entirety.

  39. Would have to be Anthrax considering I have been listening to them since I was 9 (State of Euphoria was my first album) and I have never seen them live. Actually considering the amount of shows I have been to, I have never seen any of these bands live. :(

  40. Exodus, I have seen Gary playing with slayer when they came to Peru about 2 years ago. But I don’t want to miss this chance

  41. Anthrax is the only one of the “big four” I’ve never seen live. Also ‘Among’ is one of my fav metal albums of all time. So…

    • Don’t pick me. I just realized that I’m out of town for this concert.

  42. I must see Municipal Waste again. Currently going through withdrawal.
