The epic metal masters Wintersun are coming from Finland for their first ever headlining tour of the US and the tour is kicking off in Baltimore on Tuesday, August 6th! This show was originally scheduled to be at the Fillmore Silver Spring but has been moved to the Baltimore SoundStage. To help get the word out about this awesome show’s venue change DCHeavyMetal.com is giving away a pair of tickets to a lucky one of you! To enter: just leave a comment on this post telling me why you want to go to this show. At 5pm EST this Friday, August 2nd, a winner will be chosen at random (using Random.org) from all valid entries to win the tickets. Be sure to use a valid email you check regularly so I can contact you if you win. Don’t worry, I won’t add you to any spam lists or sell your info or anything sleazy like that. If I haven’t heard back from the winner within 24 hours another winner will be chosen. Wintersun has announced that on this tour they’ll be playing both of their albums, the self titled and Time I, from front to back at each concert. They’ll also be debuting a new song as well, and since this is the first show of the tour, we’ll be the lucky ones hearing it all first! Also on this tour is the Italian symphonic death metal band Fleshgod Apocalypse and Virginia based tech metal band Arsis. You’ll also get to see the hot new melodic metal band Starkill from Chicago. There will also be some local support acts, including the excellent Fallen Martyr, so be sure to get there early to see these guys. I wanna go because I’ve never seen Wintersun live and I bet it’ll be an awesome show! I confess I was bummed by the change of venue but winning free tickets would very much encourage me to face the long drive on a Tuesday night
My friend is new to metal I want to take them to this show so they learn how awesome these bands are live.
The main reason I moved to Maryland is because is loaded with Metal….And boom Wintersun is here!!….That would be a great “Welcome to Maryland” gift…

I’d like to go to this one because 1.) Wintersun didn’t come anywhere close last year, and 2.) I missed Arsis in Frederick back in April. It’s a shame too; Arsis probably won’t have nearly as long of a set with Wintersun being the headliner!
Because it’s Wintersun and Fleshgod Apocalypse !! Bands at their prime right now ! Plus this would be a great first metal show to take my girlfriend too :)
Why do I want to go this show? Cause Starkill is touring! Oh, and Wintersun, and Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Arsis. It’s only the best line-up I’ve seen this year.

Hooked on Wintersun back in high school when their debut came out. Finally got to hear the follow up in my senior year of college. It’s high time I got to see them!
Wintersun is one of my top five bands ever and my little brother is coming to this one because he missed coming with me to see them in Pittsburgh due to the flu.
This is an amazing lineup. How could you not want to try and get free tickets?

I want to see Wintersun because I love Jari and his musical talents, he’s like a Renaissance man of metal.
I’d rather go to Silver Spring than Baltimore, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers when this is Wintersun’s first headlining tour in the U.S.!
My fiance and I love Wintersun and Jari’s work with Ensiferum! Loved their last east coast tour, and can’t wait to see ’em again!
I would love the opportunity to see Wintersun because they have been a big part of my metal world for the past 6 years. I have been amazed by Jari’s vocal style as well as with his technical ability since his days in Ensiderum. I would be ecstatic to see one of my favorite and best bands that Finland has to offer! :)
I haven’t had the chance to see a death metal show before now, and I thought this one would be the perfect place to start. I’d hate to miss this awesome lineup.

Wintersun is the concert i have been waiting to see since they came into existence! The way things looked for a while i didnt know if they would even put out a second album! my 64 gig ipod is just about full, and nothing on there gets me more pumped than Jari SHRED! Nothing would make me more happy to see Wintersun live and in person! I couldnt go to see them when they came last winter…..my job would not cooperate! I was so excited to see they were coming at least to a reasonable location…..and then they canceled it. Im not a big fan of baltimore…..the last two times i went to metal shows there the experience was sub-par. but if i win these free tickets, ill will be on my way….6 hours to see my favorite band seems worth it.
I really would love to go to this concert because I’ve never really gotten around to going to one, and I’d love to see one of my favorite bands, let alone two of them, in concert for my first time.
