Russian Circles put on a killer performance when they played the Rock & Roll Hotel back in February and you can bet they’ll do the same this time too. While they’re not the most brutal of bands I’ve always had a soft spot for instrumental bands and Russian Circles is one of the best. Also on the bill is Mutoid Man, a stoner band featuring Ben Koller of Converge and Steve Brodsky of Cave In. Now check out these killer tunes by the bands playing and let me know what you favorite instrumental band is!

Russian Circles – Geneva

Russian Circles – Deficit

Mutoid Man – Gnarcissist

  1. Probably Pelican, I’m originally from Chicago and totally biased (also gives RC a leg up.

  2. Russian Circles for sure!

  3. This Will Destroy You

  4. God is an Astronaut

  5. Mono

  6. My favorite instrumental band is probably Don Caballero.

  7. Russian Circles and Pelican. They should tour together.

  8. My favorite instrumental band at the moment is Bongripper

  9. After hearing Russian Circles for the first time I think my reaction was something along the lines of “Where the fuck has this band been all my life!?” But as for favorite I might have to go with AAL. Conquering Dystopia is sick too though. So is Red Sparrows. Ask me again tomorrow when I’m drunker. I’ll prob have a different answer.

  10. This is tough, but I would say that it is a three-way tie between Russian Circles, Red Sparrowes and Pelican.

  11. Earth.

  12. John Coltrane quartet

  13. Mogwai

  14. Just listened to Russian Circles for the first time… I’m going to have to go with them. I’d love to check out the show on Sunday!
