Gwar ticket give away

Gwar at the 9:30 Club

Halloween might have come and gone but you can extend the costumed fun next week when Gwar plays at the 9:30 Club on Sunday, November 9th (that's this Monday!). I’ve been commanded by my scumdog slavemasters to bring more lambs to the slaughter which means one of you (un)lucky DCHM readers will win a pair of tickets to attend this very massacre concert. To enter just leave a comment on this post letting me know what the best costume you saw this Halloween was. At 5pm EST this Friday, November 6th, a winner will be chosen at random (using Random.org) from all valid entries to win the tickets. Be sure to use a valid email you check regularly so I can contact you if you win. Don’t worry, I won’t add you to any spam lists or sell your info or anything sleazy like that. If I haven’t heard back from the winner in 24 hours another winner will be chosen at random. If you can’t wait to see if you win or the contest is already over when you read this, then you can get tickets from Ticket Fly for $25 here.

If you’ve never seen Gwar live before then get ready for a truly religious experience! Our alien masters are known for putting on the goriest live show in the universe and you’ll be covered in blood, bile and worse by the time it’s over, a truly epic baptism by mosh pit. But before Gwar even dominates the 9:30 Club stage there will be sets by other bands as well. Born Of Osiris, a Chicago based djent band, will be direct support and starting off the festivities is Battlecross, a melodic death/thrash band that is incredible live. Still not sure if you should go? Then check out these awesome music videos by the bands playing the show as you think up your entry!

Gwar – Let Us Slay

Born Of Osiris – Machine

Battlecross – Never Coming Back

The annual Summer Slaughter tour is one of the biggest heavy metal summer tours in the US every year and 2015 will be no different! Arch Enemy is headlining the tour this year and we’re excited to be giving away a pair of tickets to the one of you lucky DCHM readers when the Summer Slaughter tour comes to Rams Head Live in Baltimore on Thursday, August 13th. Arch Enemy returns to Baltimore when Summer Slaughter comes to town and this will be the first time they play our area with Jeff Loomis playing guitar opposite Mike Amott! Born Of Osiris is a deathcore band from the Chicago area and they’ve just released a new song from their upcoming album, maybe they’ll play more from it live as well. Veil Of Maya is also a deathcore band from Chicago, though their sound has a Periphery-esque djent sound as well. The Acacia Strain from Massachusetts will be bringing their brand of metalcore to the stage on this tour as well. California based vegetarian death metal band Cattle Decapitation has a new album coming out and they’ll surely be playing some of that brutal new material for you at this show. And definitely get there early enough to see Beyond Creation from Montreal. The tech death band has one of the most incredible bass players in metal right now! So check out these videos by each band on the Summer Slaughter tour below and leave a comment telling me which band you most want to see when the tour comes to Baltimore next week!

Arch Enemy – War Eternal

Born Of Osiris – Throw Me In The Jungle

Veil Of Maya – Mikasa

The Acacia Strain – Cauterizer

Cattle Decapitation – Manufactured Extinct

Beyond Creation – Omnipresent Perception

Darkest Hour ticket give away

Washington DC’s own metalcore legends Darkest Hour are headlining a show at the 9:30 Club on Friday the 25th of February 2011 and DCHeavyMetal.com is giving away a pair of tickets to one of you lucky readers of the site. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post below telling me what local metal band you’d like to see headline the 9:30 Club next. Make sure you enter in a valid email address you check regularly when you submit your comment so I can contact you if you win, though it doesn’t need to be in the comment itself. On Friday, February 18th at 5pm EST the concert will close and I’ll select a winner at random from all the comments below to win the pair of tickets. If the winner doesn’t respond within 24 hours I’ll pick another winner Saturday the 19th at 5pm and continue to do so every 24 hours until there is a valid winner. Don’t be a jerk and enter multiple times or I’ll disqualify all your entries. Do be awesome and tell your friends about this contest.

Darkest Hour is touring with Born Of Osiris, As Blood Runs Black, The Human Abstract, and rumor has it DH guitarist Mike Schleibaum’s punk project Beasts Of No Nation will be opening for this show only. That’s just a rumor I’ve heard tho and it hasn’t been confirmed yet so don’t get mad if it doesn’t happen. This will be the first show of the Atticus Metal Tour III and will also be the first Darkest Hour concert after their new album, The Human Romance, is released on February 22nd. The doors open early for this show, 5pm to be exact, and the whole thing should be over by 10pm since there is another non-metal concert later the same night. If you can’t wait for the contest to end, or it’s already over when ya read this, you can get tickets from TicketFly for $15 each (before service fees) by going here. Now check out this new song, Your Everyday Disaster, from the upcoming album The Human Romance.
